After all, her father is producing a film for daughter dearest, titled 'Aisha', which sees Sonam cast opposite Abhay Deol. Her second film, 'Delhi 6' too may not have fared very well at the box office, but Rakesh Mehra's labor of love has quite immortalized her character in the movie as the 'Masakali' girl. What sets Sonam apart from the rest of the young actresses her age is perhaps the fact that she is an actress who is much more relaxed about her profession. She intends to be an actress and it shows from her choice of role models. It is actresses like the late Nutan and Waheeda Rehman who are a source of inspiration for her. What inspires her about them is the fact that they dared to take chances with their roles. And that is what Sonam would like to do with her career. Make her own choices, and stand out as actress, and be admired not just for her looks but her acting skills as well.
