In fact, the much hyped Eid battle between WANTED and DIL BOLE HADIPPA saw WANTED walking away with the honours. The industry, which was going through a sort of mini crisis, with a pathetic success rate in the first half (additionally due to the strike), with just seven movie, RAAZ -THE MYSTERY CONTINUES..., DEV .D, 99, KAMBAKKHT ISHQ, NEW YORK, KAMINEY and LIFE PARTNER, emerging as successes, heaved a sigh of relief as the Salman Khan starrer brought back the audience to the theatres. And more exciting days are ahead as there are more clashes in the offing.

After the WANTED and DIL BOLE HADIPPA clash, which turned out to be a damp squib, its now the turn of veteran Govinda, along with a superb ensemble cast of Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen and Sohail Khan in DO KNOT DISTURB, which will vie for honours with the new superstar in the making, Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona's WAKE UP SID, both of which release on 2nd October, Gandhi Jayanti. Suparn Verma's ACID FACTORY, which was previously listed as a Gandhi Jayanti release, has now intelligently been postponed by a week and will release on 9th October, along with a few small budget ventures like Anuj Sawhney's 3 NIGHTS 4 DAYS and LOVE TADKA.

However, there will not be much breathing space as the very next week, that is the Diwali holidays, will witness the mother of all clashes between Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta's BLUE and the Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Tusshar Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Fardeen Khan starrer, ALL THE BEST...FUN BEGINS, and of course the Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan's MAIN AURR MRS KHANNA.

Though no films are lined up for immediate next week, but October ends up with one more big clash in the form of Salman Khan-Ajay Devgan-Asin starrer LONDON DREAMS v/s ALADIN starring Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt and debutante Jacqueline Fernandez.

Certainly exciting days and clashes are ahead and all we can do is wish all the very best and wait and watch!
