The actress began the year with Priyadarashan's 'Billu', which saw her in an entirely different avatar altogether. She was the simple, village belle in the movie, and was a perfect foil to her co star Irrfan Khan. Next came, 'Do Knot Disturb', which saw her cast opposite Govinda in David Dhawan's rib tickler. And now expectations are running high with 'Blue' being touted as being the most expensive film ever made. The actress is romantically cast opposite Sanjay Dutt in the movie. What not many people know is that the actress was on the verge of turning down the offer as she is quite scared of water. But co star and good friend, Akshay Kumar, who plays the villain in 'Blue', actually convinced her to change her mind. Akshay and Lara go back to the days of 'Andaaz', while the last film that she and Sanju did together was 'Zinda'. But coming back to 'Blue', co star Zayed Khan has been reported saying that the bikini clad Lara was the showstopper. But apparently, Lara's brief was not to look hot but to look like a swimmer. She is believed to have trained for six months to get her body in shape for the role. Come Diwali, the whole world will be able to judge if Lara is the showstopper or not. Anyway, the actress is really going places and has another big film lined up after 'Blue'. She will next be seen in Sajid Khan's 'Housefull' where she will share screen space with Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani.
