In an effort to set a firm foot in movie making in regional languages, UTV is rumored to have signed up Mahesh Babu for a three-film deal for astronomical sums.
This deal, if materialized, would make Mahesh Babu the second highest paid actor in the South Indian film industry.
UTV has already acquired the release rights of the Mahesh Babu-Amrita Rao starrer "Athidi", directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Ramesh Babu.
Athidi is being planned to release in a big way with 500 prints on Dussehra (October 12). Since Mahesh Babu is believed to have a huge fan following abroad, after superstar Rajinikanth among the south Indian stars, considerable prints have been planned to release worldwide.
