On Saturday, 24th October, Mukta Arts completed 31 years of its journey as a film production house which has grown in business since 1978 from movie production to distribution, exhibition and now education. 'Karz' has been their first film and Rishi Kapoor and Tina Munim (Ambani) will always be remembered as the founder members of Mukta Arts. It was an evening of nostalgia for Mr. Ghai and his company when stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Vrinda Rai (on behalf of Aishwarya Rai), Katrina Kaif, Rishi Kapoor where given mementos for their invaluable contribution by celebrities like Subhash Chandra, Karan Johan, Randhir Kapoor, Imtiaz Ali, Abbas Tyrewala and Praful Patel. Rishi Kapoor narrated his experience while shooting for 'Karz' where he asked for the choreographer to practice the song while Mr Ghai said to him that he would help him practice the song as this song requires a director and not a choreographer and the song was directed by Mr Ghai. While SRK had a similar experience while shooting for 'Darde Dil' song from 'Pardes' where again Mr Ghai choreographed the song.

The glittering screens all over the hall were projecting the shots of working stills on one side while shots of all Mukta Arts films like 'Karz', 'Hero', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Karma', 'Saudagar', 'Khalnayak', 'Pardes', 'Taal', 'Iqbal', 'Aitraz', 'Ek Aur Ek Gyarah' and 'Black and White' on the other side. The other screen projected the growth of Whistling Woods International, which over the last 3 years has spread its wings in Spain and Hyderabad.

Besides the actors, the directors who have been a part of the Mukta Arts journey were also felicitated. David Dhawan, Satish Kaushik, Sangeeth Sivan and Abbas Mustan received trophies from Praful Patel, Gautam Singhania, Subhash Chandra and John Lee, The Dean of Whistling Woods. Heads of music companies, Ramesh Taurani of Tips and Bhushan Kumar of T Series where also felicitated along with lyricist Sameer and singer Alka Yagnik for their contribution to this significant journey.

The celebration did not end here as it was also the wedding anniversary of Mr & Mrs Ghai and they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary too!
