ACID FACTORY was a well made film but unfortunately couldn't quite work at the box office. However, there is something to celebrate for the makers of the film with recognition coming its way all the way from Kodak. Acknowledging the film for its technical finesse and the precision with which it was shot; Kodak is now screening the film for technicians across the country.Confirms Suparn Verma, director of this thrilling multi starrer that broke new ground when it came to shot taking, "From today, Kodak will have screenings of ACID FACTORY across the country for technicians. This would be done to showcase how Kodak Super16mm stock was used with such awesome effect. It will also showcase the film in it's internationally distributed magazine for cinematographers."
This must be some sigh of relief for Suparn, producer Sanjay Gupta and cinematographer Sahil Kapoor who had gone all out to make ACID FACTORY a visually enticing affair. Though the film did come for good appreciation from quite a few critics, there were hardly any takers when it arrived in theatres due to two major reasons - a) It released a week before much hyped Diwali releases BLUE and ALL THE BEST, b) It was badly promoted.
Well, with some recognition coming its way, Suparn and Sanjay could well start looking forward to their other projects in the pipeline. Perhaps for those, in addition to technical expertise, they would also get acknowledged by audiences for some innovative story telling.
