Once you get into cinema, there's a lot of giving before you begin receiving! Ambitious young stars like Sibi Raj, son of veteran actor Sathyaraj, have their big dreams. So they have to make a lot of sacrifices before they can turn those dreams into tangible reality.
"For a successful career, ice-creams are hardly a big deal to part with," laughs the actor, who without hesitation, reveals that while growing up, he just loved chilling desserts and could never have enough of ice cream! "I remember there used to be a preview theatre called Mena, where the ice-creams were great. It didn't matter what movie was running there, all that mattered were the ice-creams! I would get one before the movie started, one during the interval, one for soon after the interval and one after the movie was over! I'm sure they made a good profit, thanks to me!"
But that was long before he became the fitness-conscious person he is now! Ideally, an ice-cream calls for at least 30 minutes on the treadmill! But since I have managed to curb my craving for the sweet treat, I hardly ever get to have it. An ice cream once in three months is OK!
Sibi is banking on the success of his latest movie Naanayam, directed by debutant Shakthi and produced by S.P. Saran. The plot revolves around a bank robbery and promises a lot of thrills and excitement. James Vasanthan's compositions for the movie hit the stands today. Let's hope he has once again created some magic with his simple tunes that should spell the harbinger of success for Sibi and the rest of the Naanayam crew.
