London, Sep 2 (ANI): Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been at loggerheads lately, but the couple have decided to call a truce in an attempt to convince a social worker from Malawi that they are fit parents to their African son.

According to friends, the pop diva and her film director hubby are determined to put forth a united front because they fear their adopted boy David Banda could be taken away from them.

Malawian social worker Penstone Kilembe will start his two-week long inspection of the mega-rich celebrity couple from Sep 4.

Staying at Madge's 7 million pound London mansion, Kilembe will assess the couple's treatment towards the two-year-old tot.

On his return to Malawi, the officer will advise the country's High Court on whether or not the couple should be permitted to keep David Banda.

During his 14-day stay the inspector will question Madge and Ritchie on areas such as alcohol consumption, infertility and divorce. He will also review how loving they are towards each other and to Madonna's daughter Lourdes and their son Rocco. he "home study" is the final obstacle in adopting the boy, who has been living in England since Madge picked him from a Malawian orphanage last October.

"They're on tenterhooks waiting for this man to arrive in the UK. Things haven't been great in their marriage recently but they're determined to put on a good show for him," News of the World quoted a friend, as saying.

"To send David back would be devastating and it's something they're determined to avoid at all costs," the friend added. (ANI)
