Kamal is best actor - Rasigar Sangam choice

There are many organizations that choose best actors and technicians every year. One of them is Chennai Cinema Rasigar Sangam that has chosen the list for 2006. This was announced yesterday by High Court Justice Jagadeesan.

Kamal has been chosen as best actor and Gautham as best director for 'Vettaiyadu Vilayaadu.' Unni Menon got best playback singer for the same film.

One of the important films of last year was 'E' and its stars Jeeva and Nayantara get awards for best actor and actress. Every year, Chennai Cinema Rasigar Sangam chooses 3 special awards for best acting. One award goes to Ajith ('Tirupathi'), the other two go to Sandhya for 'Dishyum' and Uma for 'Ilakkanam.'

Awards also go to Pasupathy ('E'), Prakashraj ('Sivakasi'), Renuka ('Poi') and Vadivukkarasi ('Thirudi'). Best newcomer award goes to Hari Kumar and Karthika for 'Thoothukudi.' Chithra gets best playback singer for her "karuvaai paiyya..." song in this film.

'E' has been chosen as best film, Harris Jayaraj as best composer and Ravivarman as best cinematographer.

All the above awardees will receive their awards at a function on Oct 7 at Kamaraj Hall in Chennai.
