Finally all speculation surrounding the Rakyesh Om Prakash Mehra's semi-autobiographical film Delhi 6 is over. It has now been learnt that the director has signed actor Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan to play the lead in his film.

Delhi 6 is based on the monkey menace which rocked Delhi some years ago. Mehra had a tough time trying to get his cast together. The film had initially been announced with Abhishek Bachchan in the lead. After that fizzled out, Mehra is believed to have approached Hrithik Roshan, who in turn, suggested some changes in the script, which did not go down well with Mehra. Akshay Kumar too was offered the role, but he had no dates to offer. Mehra is even believed to have approached Ranbir Kapoor, who has already signed Yash Raj's next film to be directed by Siddharth Anand. There were even reports suggesting that the director had signed his find Siddharth of Rang De Basanti fame. But now it seems that he has finally got his leading man. The news is being kept under wraps only because Imran's film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, directed by Abbas Tyrewala, is being released later this year. He is in the process of completing his shooting for Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap and will begin shooting for Delhi 6 in October.
