The buzz doing the rounds a little while back was that Munnabhai director Rajkumar Hirani had signed Shah Rukh for his next film. However, according to sources, the yet-to-be-untitled project is now on hold as the superstar has not been able to commit any dates for it.
Shah Rukh is believed to be very busy with the promotion and marketing of his home production Om Shanti Om, which releases on November 9. Raju is believed to be very excited about the film which is a departure from the Munnabhai series. It will touch on social issues like education and literacy. Sources say that the film has been delayed as SRK has not committed any dates as yet. Casting for the film which begun a while ago has now been slowed down. Once SRK's dates are locked, they will move ahead. Following the recent developments in Sanjay Dutt's case, the film Munnabhai Chale Amrika has been postponed to next year. However, Hirani says that SRK is not delaying his film. He says that he needs time for pre-production and the final scripting of the film. He plans to begin the film in January next year. Meanwhile, on another note, SRK has said that he is now on a holiday for two months as he has finished Om Shanti Om. Once he is back, he will complete Shankar's Robot and the cameo that he is rendering in good friend Viveck Vaswani's Dulha Mil Gaya.
