Tamil film industry owes a lot to AVM films, Modern Theatres and Gemini films who were pivotal in bringing out quality films.
Their significant role in the growth of the industry can never be ignored. Chandralekha, one of the trendsetters of those days produced by S S Vasan of Gemini films is still considered as a mile stone in Indian film arena.
After S S Vasan, Gemini films stopped making movies for a while and more recently they were involved in making teleserials under Vikatan Televistas. After a long sabbatical, Vikatan has decided to venture into film production once again now. Their first film is to be directed by Saravanan who assisted Bala in his films. The music of the film will be scored by singer Anuradha Sriram who had given us lively numbers in the film ‘five star’. It has been reported that the film will have many newcomers.
Meanwhile, Rajesh who had apprenticed with S A Chandrashekar is said to have narrated a script to Vikatan which has been instantly liked by them. To feature in this film Rajesh has approached Arya who is currently involved with Naan Kadavul. It has been reported that Arya would get back to the director in a couple of days and if this venture come through, he is likely to commence work after he wraps up Naan Kadavul.
