Washington, Sept 14 (ANI): They may not have said their vows before a priest or a judge, but Stuart Townsend and Charlize Theron are, for all intent and purposes, married.

Townsend, who starred with his Oscar winning ladylove in 2002 movie 'Trapped', insisted that he thinks of Theron as his wife.

"I'm married. I didn't do a church wedding or anything, but we're married. We're husband and wife," People quoted him, as saying.

The actor also laughs off rumours that the two have secretly married, insisting that they don't need a certificate to feel like a married couple.

"We didn't have a ceremony. I don't need a certificate or the state or the church to say otherwise," he said.

" So no there's no big official story on a wedding, but we are married. ... I consider her my wife and she considers me her husband."

The couple were at the Toronto Film Festival to premiere Townsend's writing and directorial debut film, 'Battle in Seattle', a dramatized look at the 1999 World Trade Organization convention and the protests that overtook the city of Seattle and caused a state of emergency. (ANI)
