London, Sep 15 (ANI): Cate Blanchett has revealed the truth about her naked bottom in new film 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age'.

The Aussie star has admitted that her finely sculpted posterior in Shekhar Kapur's magnum opus is actually a bum double.

"It's not me. It's not my bottom. It's someone else's," the Daily Mail quoted her, as saying.

Blanchett caused some friction on set when she refused to shed her clothes for her much-awaited reprisal of the virgin queen.

However, after her continuous resistance, a substitute was called in for the scene.

"Shekhar had his reasons, but I wasn't convinced. The bottom seen in the film is not mine. It looks very nice, but it doesn't belong to me. Only my husband sees my bum," she said.

Kapur, who also directed Cate in Elizabeth ten years ago, later played down the controversy by stressing on the vitality and power of the narrative.

"We got someone else in to double Cate's bottom, but the film's about a lot more than bare bums," he said.

The film, which recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, explores the relationship between Elizabeth and adventurer Sir Walter Raleigh, played by British actor Clive Owen. (ANI)
