Rishi Kapoor offered to work for free in director-turned-producer Kunal Kohli's first production starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee and was gifted with a BMW by an overwhelmed Kunal.
Kunal's association with Rishi goes back to the Hum Tum days, where the actor played father to Saif's character in the movie. He repeated the fatherly act in Fanaa as well, this time playing Kajol's father. On the last day of the first schedule of the shoot, there were emotions running high. Everyone applauded as Kunal handed over the keys of a carbon-coloured BMW, grandly decorated with ribbons and balloons, to the actor as a gesture of appreciation. Rishi was taken aback. In fact, he later confessed to feeling embarrassed to talk about it. Since Rishi considers Kunal to be an old friend, and since it was his first home production, he decided to do it on the house. It was just a matter of eight days. The actor feels it was a lovely gesture on Kunal's part and is touched by it. As for the car, Rishi has gifted it to his wife, who is ecstatic.
