Javed Akhtar is busy scripting a screenplay for his son Farhan Akhtar's production company these days. The veteran poet and scriptwriter had last written Laskshya starring Hrithik Roshan is believed to be quite ecstatic about his latest screenplay.
The script writer in him is thoroughly enjoying the entire writing process. According Akhtar writing a script is a much more tedious job, as compared to writing lyrics. He likens the process of writing a script to running a marathon. Hence, one needs to work strategically on one's speed at every lap, according to him. The plot is believed to be a contemporary one and revolves around everyday problems with a strong social message. Akhtar is not too keen on revealing anything much about the project as yet as he is still in the process of writing it. But he does say that the film is not based on any real life issue but deals today's issues. Lakshya was the last film that he had written that was way back in 2003. Explaining his hiatus, Akhtar said that he did not have any story to tell for so long, so he continued writing lyrics. But he believes that it is far more satisfying writing scripts. The writer says that he loves writing for his children. But he denies making any comment on whether the film will be directed by Farhan. Wait till the script is over, is all that he is willing to say at the moment.
