Even while nearing its 100th day, Sivaji still seems to be in the news – for all the good and bad reasons.
Following the heels of Sudalaikannu, that Sivaji story is his original work, another person, this time an advocate, has filed a case against AVM Productions, director Shankar and actor Rajinikanth, with the same claim.
While Sudalaikannu’s case is still pending in the fourth City Civil Court, advocate A. Elangovan’s case came up for hearing at the 13th City Civil Court yesterday. According to Elangovan, he had sent the story to Shankar and A.V.M. Saravanan on October 12th, 2005, but received the same cover, some days later, through post, for non-acceptance. However, the story inside the cover was missing, he claimed.
The issue was taken up for hearing before Judge Naseer Ahmed, who ordered the producer, director and the superstar to file a counter. The issue is expected to come up for hearing again on September 21st.
