Esha Deol made her debut six years ago with Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche. But today she has not reached the position that her mother Hema Malini would have liked her to be in. The Dream Girl is believed to have called Mahesh Bhatt and requested him to make Esha a part of the Bhatt camp.

Bhatt has responded instantly to the Dream Girl's request and has signed Esha on for Zannat with Emraan Hashmi. The film will be directed by Kunal Deshmukh. The story of Zannat is about a girl who wants to be a dancer, but because she cannot make it, she starts working in a call centre. It is about how one views expensive things at shopping malls with no money in one's pocket. Emraan plays a bookie in this film, which has match-fixing as its backdrop. Hema has also asked Bhatt to take time out and talk to Esha and help her understand the world she is in. Bhatt is touched by the trust reposed in him by the actress for helping in moulding and building her daughter's career.
