New Delhi/Mumbai, Sept 21 (ANI): Director Navdeep Singh's debut venture 'Manorama Six Feet Under' thrilled the audiences with its murder mystery, as it was released in theatres across the country today.
Starring Gul Panag, Abhay Deol, Raima Sen and Vinay Pathak, the film's action-packed storyline was appreciated by the viewers.
"The movie is good, a one-time watch. Gul Panag and Abhay Deol have acted well. Storyline is also captivating," said Akshay, a viewer.
The name of the film is quite unusual, which piques the interest.
"The name of the film originally was 'Manorama'. Lot of people thought it was a woman oriented subject. So, we added 'Six Feet Under' just to get the sense that someone dies and the fact that it is a murder mystery," said Navdeep Singh, the director.
'Manorama Six Feet Under' trails the journey of an engineer-turned-detective-novelist, who gets caught in a web of lies and deceit as he investigates the murder of a woman called 'Manorama'.
The story revolves around the life of Satyaveer or SV, whose debut novel 'Manorama' flops badly.
Looking for a bit of adventure in his otherwise dreary and mundane life, SV sets out to solve the case of a woman's murder by the same name 'Manorama'.
Actor Abhay Deol, who plays the role of Satyaveer, has received rave reviews for his performance in the film.
The film is shot entirely in Rajasthan and the location plays a vital role in the film's storyline.
This murder mystery is a tribute to the 'noir' genre. "Film noir", which began in the early 1940's and stretched till late 1950's, is Hollywood crime drama. With dark and shadowy overtone these films are basically 'black' hard-boiled crime fiction. (ANI)
