Bipasha Basu has not worked with the Bhatts after Jism happened in 2003. Recently, however, Mukesh Bhatt, the producer of Raaz 2 had confirmed that the actress was keen to work with them again and that she was doing Raaz 2.
The actress had said that she was keen to work with the Bhatts again and was keen to work with Emran Hashmi. Mukesh Bhatt had even said that they have a suitable role for her. But the latest news is that Bipasha is out of the film which is being directed by Mohit Suri. The Bhatts will choose a new heroine in the next few days. However, their blue-eyed boy Hashmi remains a part of the project. And Suri is the new director instead of Vikram Bhatt who directed Raaz. The omission is being explained by the Bhatt camp as a change of plans. The film is no longer a sequel to Raaz, or so claims the film's writer Shagufta Rafique. According to her, Raaz had no loose ends that they could use for the sequel. The ghost played by Malini Sharma had died and there was no way that the story could be continued for the sequel just for the heck of it. Even Mahesh Bhatt has confirmed that Bipasha is no longer a part of Raaz 2 anymore as Shagufta has come up with a new story which has captivated both him and Mohit. Not keen to reveal much about the film, all Bhatt would say was that the film will have a supernatural element as Raaz did. Another change in Raaz 2 is that it will not have music by Nadeem Shravan.
