Kanthasamy is the most talked-about movie right now. With word out that Vikram has a number of get-up changes, his fans just can’t wait for the movie to release. The movie launch took place at theatre Devi Paradise and those present got a glimpse of what is in store, which is mind-blowing. Vikram and Shriya entertained the audience with a dance performance for a song from the movie.
Produced by Kalaipuli S. Dhanu and directed by Susi Ganesh, Kanthasamy is another story taking up the cause of social welfare – trying to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. And to accomplish this mission, Vikram takes on various avatars. The posters announcing the movie’s launch feature stills of the actor in various costumes making expectations soar higher.
Director Susi Ganesh said that the idea behind the movie is to encourge well-off people to adopt villages and work towards helping its residents. To show just how serious the crew is about pitching in towards social welfare, they have adopted two villages - Chellapatti and Sangapatti [Madurai Dist.]. The entire crew is reaching out to the people of these villages and contributing towards their upliftment. This is indeed a generous gesture and one can only hope that many will follow suit. In fact, Chennai Theatre Owners' Association Head, Abirami Ramanathan, inspired by the theme and crew of Kanthasamy, announced that he will be adopting his home town Poolangkurichi. Will this trend catch on? Let's hope it does!
