With Maya Kannadi not doing well at the box-office as expected, director-turned-actor Cheran is now looking to direct and act in a movie based on family sentiments, which happens to be his forte. The movie will be produced by his home productions, Dream Theatres.

Cheran, being a 'Nadigar Thilagam' Sivaji Ganesan fan has decided to name it Bagapirivinai – one of the famous movies of Sivaji Ganesan. Another venture in the pipeline for Cheran, also a family drama, is a movie directed by Karu Palaniappan - Pirivom Santhippom.

Incidentally, Cheran has also been signed up for Raman Thediya Seethai – a MGR movie title. This movie, being produced by Moser Baer, will be directed by K.B. Jeganji, whose earlier ventures include the Vijay-starrer Pudhiya Geethai and Kodambakkam. Pasupathy and Nitin Sathya also star in RTS along with Cheran.

Rajesh Yadav will be the man behind the camera and Vidya Sagar has scored the music. The shooting of RTS is expected to commence in Nagarcoil shortly. Apart from these three ventures, the actor has consented to act in a film to be produced by Supergood films. Cheran intends to divide his attention equally between these projects, sources say.
