"Actress Nayantara's mother Kamaladevi was murdered in Hyderabad."

This news appeared in the morning papers yesterday and sent the south Indian film industry into a panic. Nayantara received condolence calls and sms.

Nayantara was in shooting for 'Sathyam' and this put her in great confusion because her mother's name is Omana Kurien, not Kamaladevi. And she resides in Thiruvalla in Kerala, not in Hyderabad.

It came to be known later that Kamaladevi is the mother of a Telugu supporting actress called Nayantara. After being bombarded by condolence message, Nayantara was terribly upset and on learning the truth of the matter, she started to fume.

"Till now, only rumours about me were being spread. Now they are involving my mother too," she said in anger. She is consulting her lawyer to file a case against the media for featuring news without verifying facts.

One must indeed be very careful where mothers are concerned!
