A Telugu actor is trying to put his foot into Tamil films. As a prelude to it, work is happening to dub his Telugu films into Tamil.

In Andhra, films of our stars like Rajini, Vijay, Vishal and Simbu, are doing great business. But the Telugu films dubbed into Tamil don't seem to be doing well here, a matter that needs to be seriously looked into.

Many of Vijay's hit films have been done in Telugu by Mahesh Babu. He acted in 'Okkadu,' the Telugu remake of Vijay's 'Gilli.' The Tamil 'Pokkiri' is a remake of Mahesh Babu's 'Pokkiri.'

Maybe because of this, Mahesh Babu is keen to dub his Telugu films into Tamil for release here. His 'Athadu' was dubbed and released as 'Nandhu' and did reasonably well.

So, 'Sainikoodu' directed by Gunasekaran and featuring Mahesh Babu and Trisha is being released here in Tamil as 'Kumaran.' The company that has bought the dubbing rights is confident that the film will do well since there is the requisite action and Trisha's glamour to carry it through.

Ravishankar has written the dialogues for 'Kumaran.' Lyrics are by Na Muthukumar, Snehan and Viveka.

If 'Kumaran' clicks and Mahesh Babu creates a niche for himself in Tamil, Vijay will have tough competition!
