The Saawariya director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has taken full credit for one of the songs in the film which he has composed. The director has taken full credit for the Shreya Ghosal number 'Thode Badmassh Ho Tum.'
According to Bhansali, it is a tune he has been humming to himself for years. He says thatbhe had it in mind for another film but then decided to use it for Saawariya as it felt just right for the film. But he is quick to point out that besides this one song, the rest of the songs in the film have been composed by Monty Sharma. When Monty did the background score for Black and Devdas, Bhansali said that he realised that he had the capacity to go beyond the expected and was equally adept in Indian and Western styles. Monty is Pyarelal's nephew. Pyarelal of the famous Laxmikant-Pyarelal music composer duo. He has been trained by Pyarelal's father, who has trained most of the musicians in the industry. Bhansali believes that no soundtrack can be complete without the director's active contribution. Having discovered Ismail Durbar, Monty Sharma, he talks about his great comfort level with Durbar during the making of Devdas where he would often give him the mukhda and the composer would then take over the rest of the song. Neither Monty and Durbar have felt offended by his inputs, says the director.
