Lyricist Pa. Vijay, who has given many a hit song, is all set to don the greasepaint and the director’s cap as well.
And his maiden venture has the backing of some really enviable names in the industry. The project, titled Thai Kaviyam, is the translated work of the famous Russian novelist Maxim Gorky.
The translation was done by veteran writer and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi. It is to be noted that the novel has been published in a leading Tamil magazine some time ago. The CM, as stated by our sources, will be in charge of the story, screenplay and dialogues.
Another interesting tidbit on Thai Kaviyam is that, noted lyricist Vaali has suggested that the lead character of the movie be named after the communist leader of Tamil Nadu, Jeevanantham, as a mark of respect. Official word on this project is expected in a day or two.
