Vijay loves to star in remakes of Telugu hits. Tollywood also loves to remake the films that Vijay stars in.
Both have been fairly successful at the box office. The only exception to the rule was 'Bangaram', which almost led its producer to financial ruins. Mahesh Babu's 'Pokkiri' was remade in Tamil as 'Pokkiri' starring Vijay. The film was a blockbuster hit in Tamil.
Vijay these days is starring in a larger-than-life action flick in Tamil named 'Azagiya Tamiz Magan', known popularly as 'ATM'. Namitha and Shreya are the two heroines. The film had been under production for a long time and it now finally ready for post-production works.
As soon as Mahesh Babu heard the film's one-liner, he was so impressed that he ahs accepted the offer to star in its Telugu remake. It remains to be seen if the people who are remaking the film in Telugu bring in the same heroines too.
