London, Sept 29 (ANI): Sir Anthony Hopkins has rubbished rumours that he is ready to retire, revealing that he is now busy trying his hand at scriptwriting.

The 'Silence of the Lambs' actor has just finished penning surreal-drama 'Slipstream', and is already working on another script.

He told the Daily Express that he had decided to take on writing scripts after health fears made him decided to cut down on taking on more movie roles.

And, he admits that the gamble paid off, for it has re--energised his passion for films.

"I began to think I couldn't go on just churning it out, as lucrative as it is. I thought maybe I should get out before I had my first heart attack. You cannot violate the body for the sake of art," the paper quoted him, as saying.

"But I'm a hard worker and my wife Stella suggested I try writing a script - that's how Slipstream started.

"I enjoyed it and now I'm writing another. This is a great time in my life."

The actor, who turns 70 on New Year's Eve, also admitted that he was now thoroughly enjoying his age.

"I enjoy this age, I have no regrets, no fears and I'm fascinated by the nature of destiny," he said. (ANI)
