Kamal’s Dasavatharam is evolving at a supersonic’s pace and if things go on as planned, fans might just be lucky to catch the tensome Kamal on screen for Diwali.

Apart from Chennai, shoots have also been held in the United States, Malaysia and Chidambaram. Shoots for the remaining schedule and dialogues are almost wrapped up and music is proposed to be released in the month of October.

Meanwhile, we got the wind of a few secrets Dasavatharam has been locking under its iron shroud. Kamal has hired linguists to be trained in Japanese and regional English for the ten different roles. Noted Sound Engineering Specialist Sridar has been roped in for consultation to show difference in voices for Kamal’s roles. Sridar is said to be opting for different mikes for this purpose. Says Sridhar, “There is no usage of digital gimmicks and we are determined to bring Kamal’s dissimilar real voices to the fans.” Sound effects of the opening scene that has 10,000 pilgrims were shot in real-time in the Nehru stadium with 5,000 artists. Although a mere 100 artists could be transformed into 10,000 using digital technology, the crew has strained for the real effect. Besides, Asin has strained her vocal chords to get the Brahmin Tamil right for Dasavatharam. She has also reportedly undergone special training for the same. Not to mention, Dasavatharam has deployed three renowned computer graphics agencies and more than 300 graphics specialists are indulged in the project. The astounding stunt scenes of Dasavatharam have been choreographed by Joop who has been flown down from the US. A scene that shows Kamal fighting with himself has taken 20 days to shoot. That apart, Andy Dixon of the stunt crew vouches for Kamal’s prowess in choreographing stunt scenes. “Kamal can be conferred with an American Stunt Union Card for his expertise,” Andy declares.

Stunt Master Thiyagarajan has also been roped in for a sequence chase that was shot in Chidambaram. “If we had the techniques and the instruments they use for filming stunt scenes, we wouldn’t lose lives,” Kamal affirms while talking about the modern techniques used by the stunt experts from the US. No stunt scenes in Dasavatharam have been filmed using the computer graphics technique. Kamal also declares that neither him nor Asin suffered the minor of injuries during the filming of stunt scenes. Dasavatharam has many notable directors on its roll as actors. Prominent of them include Vasu, Sundarrajan, Bharathi, Erode Soundar and Ramesh Kanna. That apart, director Ravikumar will also be included in the repertoire of actors. One of the director revealed that the screenplay of Dasavatharam is staggering and the nail-biting opening scenes will evoke frenzy among the fans. He also assured that Dasavatharam would undoubtedly become a repeat-audience movie. Besides, few renowned writers pledge that Dasavatharam’s screenplay has the commercial potential of movies like Devar Magan and Apoorva Sagodarargal. Chief Minister Karunanidhi, after watching a special sneak preview, has eulogized Kamal and as a gesture of his acknowledgement patted Kamal’s cheek in delight. Recounting this incident to the press, an obviously pleased Kamal stated that the CM’s reaction is equivalent to conducting a success event for Dasavatharam before the release of the movie. Kamal has also declared that producers at Oscar films have been tremendously supportive and never showed a hint of doubt or apprehension for his requirements. “They were as reliable as Rajkamal pictures to me,” Kamal vouched. All is left in Dasavatharam are two song sequences for which art director Thottadarani and his team of 100 technicians are erecting sets worth crores. Dasavatharam’s grand release in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu simultaneously is expected for Diwali.
