Amitabh Bachchan Gets Relief In 'Koran' Remark CaseMovie Talkies – Mon 28 Jan, 2013 12:00 AM IST
A few days back, we had reported that a petition had been filed against Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan at the Allahabad High Court for allegedly making derogatory remarks against the Holy Koran in an episode of quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
However, it seems that the Allahabad High Court has dismissed the petition filed by Jhansi resident Mudassir Ullah Khan. In his petition, Khan had objected to the phrase ‘racha gaya’ (composed) used by the Big B while posing a question about the Holy Book as Khan’s contention was that the Holy Quran was neither written nor created by anybody as it was revealed by Allah (God) Himself. The High Court however observed that the phrase could also imply that Allah Himself composed the Holy Book, which is another way of saying that it is a revealed scripture.
Amitabh Bachchan, who has been hosting the quiz show since quite some time, is known for his wit and warmth when dealing with contestants on the show.
