Beauty Blooming: Sushmita, Jacqueline Provide Platform; Dia Declines?

Following in the illustrious footsteps of Sushmita Sen, another model stunner is all set to groom models back home in her island country.

Case in point: Jacqueline Fernandez.

Akin to Sen running the 'I AM SHE' pageant to train upcoming beauty queens for the 'Miss Universe' pageant, Jacqueline has joined forces with a modelling school in Sri Lanka.

Jacqueline, Miss Sri Lanka Universe 2006 is quoted to have said, "I'd like to bolster Sri Lanka's glamour industry. And since I have the experience of participating in a Miss Universe pageant, I hope to counsel the other girls correctly, because I was an absolute greenhorn during my pageant. Ultimately, I'd like to create an array of international models from my country for the world."

Dia Mirza, Miss Asia Pacific 2000, however, opines that she's not the one to bite that bait. "No, I would never create a forum where I'm training girls to win beauty pageants, because I just can't imagine myself doing so. I feel that it is something that is not inbred or ingrained in me. Strangely, because I went to a school which taught the philosophy of J. Krishnamurti, competition was never a part of our lives. Even when I went to the Miss India pageant, winning was not really on my mind… and so for me, it was quite an alien experience. Of course, I did want to win at some point, but there was no constant concern from my side to win. But in my mind, I wasn't competing with anyone."

Adds Dia significantly, "Not training beauty pageant contestants, I would like to set up a school for children, because I love kids."
