By Rachana Sheth, Glamsham EditorialSuperstar Prithviraj Sukumarn is a big name down south with many great hits like STOP VIOLENCE, INDIAN RUPEE, VAASTHAVAM, CHOCOLATE, URUMI, etc and now all set to make his big Bollywood debut opposite queen of Bollywood, Rani Mukerji in AIYYAA. However, when it came to bagging a Yash Raj Film, his second upcoming Bollywood film, it wasn't a cakewalk for him. Prithviraj got it on the basis of his acting prowess and not because of his stature or what he is.
Says Prithviraj in a matter of fact tone, "It's a big privilege for me to be a part of Yash Raj Production. Personally it's a great adrenaline rush for me because AURANGZEB is my first film in my entire career which I auditioned for. I got AURANGZEB not because of who I am or what I have done in the past but because I gave auditions for it. So in a way the film is truly special."
Ask about the status of AURANGZEB and other films in Bollywood and he says, "The shooting for AURANGZEB is currently on. I just shot for AURANGZEB in Delhi. We shot a couple of schedules in Mumbai also but the major part is being shot in Delhi. As for my other projects in Bollywood is concerned I am in talks for third film but nothing is confirmed yet. Once the formalities are done will divulge about it further."
Though Prithviraj is not bidding a goodbye to Malayalam industry, he plans to slow down a bit and wants to concentrate more on Bollywood right now.
"I am not bidding a goodbye to Malayalam industry but it's just that I am at a stage in my career in south that I want to start slowing down as I have done so many films there. Now I want to sit back and do one or two films a year. Rest of the time I want to dedicate it to my new found Bollywood career," he says.
Prithviraj is quite keen to work with Bollywood biggies. "I would love to work with Bollywood biggies," says the star.
Meanwhile he is gearing up for his upcoming release AIYYAA, which is set to arrive on 5th October 2012. Directed by Sachin Kundalkar, AIYYAA is produced by Anurag Kashyap.
