It had been reported that the film Bombay Talkies, being made by the four directors - Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee, will be the official Indian selection for the main screening at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. However, that is not the only Indian connection at the festival. Actress and filmmaker Nandita Das will be a part of the Cinefondation Short Film jury at the film festival. The jury is headed by the New Zealand filmmaker, Jane Campion.
Moreover, Amit Kumar’s Monsoon Shootout, which stars Vijay Verma, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tannishtha Chatterjee in leading roles, will also be screened at the festival.
The festival is scheduled to take place between May 15 and May 26, this year.
