Sonakshi Sinha has confirmed that she is playing the female lead in the Hindi remake of Tamil hit, Thuppaki. She began shooting for the film on Thursday. The actress, who is reportedly playing a boxer in the film, tweeted on Thursday, ""Because I only talk about a film AFTER I've signed it, it's my pleasure to share with you all that we started shooting the Thuppakki remake today. Looking forward to working with this team."
In the Thupakki remake, Sonakshi will be featured once again alongside Akshay Kumar, with whom she has shared the screen in Rowdy Rathore and Joker. Her latest film, Dabangg 2, directed by Arbaaz Khan and starring Salman Khan, released on December 21. She will next be seen opposite Ranveer Singh in Vikramaditya Motwane's Lootera.
