By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham EditorialEarly 2013 when CREATURE was announced, it was widely believed that the Bipasha Basu starrer would be Bollywood's answer to Steven Spielberg's JURASSIC PARK. Now that the film is in post-production, director Vikram Bhatt has come out in open and shunned any comparisons whatsoever.
"Sometimes you say some things and then it just gets misrepresented, hence ending up meaning something else," says Vikram who is clearly not amused with all the comparisons making rounds.
While headlines were screaming aloud that CREATURE would beat Hollywood in it's own game and pass the likes of JURASSIC PARK, ANACONDA and JAWS would be a thing of the past, Vikram truly believes that it is rather presumptuous to be making any such claims.
"What I mean to say is that CREATURE is a genre film; the kind that Hollywood has experimented with multiple times before. If I have to explain that genre, I would name films like JURASSIC PARK, ANACONDA, ALIENS or JAWS. So my statement - and please note that this is on the record - is that CREATURE is first attempt that India is making towards this genre. However by no means I am making a JURASSIC PARK here. We have an altogether different plot and storyline."
Well, that should set things in the right perspective.
