Wellington, Feb. 14 (ANI): William Shatner who played Captain James T. Kirk in the 'Star Trek' series and seven movies, isn't too happy that director JJ Abrams has signed on for the rival franchise 'Star Wars.'
The 46-year-old actor was announced as director for 'Star Trek VII' earlier this year after directing two Star Trek films, of which the latest, 'Into Darkness,' will open in May.
"He's being a pig. He's collecting the two franchises and holding them close to his vest," Stuff.co.nz quoted Shatner as telling Movie Fanatic.
He said that he's probably the most talented director of the ilk they are leaft with adding that Abrams has gone too far this time.
He later seemed to have made up with Abrams saying that the director is a buddy of his and he's taken him out for sushi.
He added that he thinks that it is time for him and Abrams to have a bit of sushi and put the director straight about having two of the largest franchises and not employing Shatner in either one of them. (ANI)
