Sonali informs the police about her mother-in-law Laxmi and husband Mangesh's suicide. The police investigate the ransacked room and find Laxmi's suicide note. They interrogate Sonali's uncle and her brother-in-law and learn about the misunderstanding between them. On looking at the property papers, the police learn that Laxmi was an illiterate. They arrest Sonali and her lover Ketan. Sonali confesses that she killed Laxmi and motivated Mangesh to commit suicide to get hold of the property.
