Will Adele win an Oscar? Your bookie probably thinks so.

Adele has been enjoying a pretty remarkable run of good luck in the past few years -- her second album "21" sold over twenty-five million copies worldwide, she earned six Grammy awards in 2012 (more than any other female artist has won in one year), and she picked up a Golden Globe in January for "Skyfall," the theme song for last year's James Bond blockbuster that she sang and co-wrote. But is there an Oscar in Adele's future? "Skyfall" scored an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song, and she looks like the smart bet to bring home the trophy Sunday night.

One online odds-making site has "Skyfall" pegged as the easy winner, with odds at 1 to 10; the longshot, at 50 to 1, is "Everybody Needs A Friend" from the movie "Ted," co-written by Seth MacFarlane, who is also hosting the Oscar broadcast this coming Sunday. Whether MacFarlane has seen these odds is anyone's guess, but he's made it clear he's not putting much faith in taking home the Oscar; in a recent interview, he said, "I know we're going to lose to Adele, but I'm genuinely excited."

While Adele may well be the biggest pop star of the moment, some of the other nominations have some celebrity action behind them. Hugh Jackman, who has appeared in a few Broadway musicals before playing Wolverine in the "X-Men" franchise, sang "Suddenly" in "Les Miserables," which is up for the award as one of the few new songs written for the film version of the international stage smash. Its been given 6 to 1 odds to win. And "Before My Time," written by J Ralph for the environmental documentary "Chasing Ice," might not have gained as much attention if it hadn't been performed on the soundtrack by Scarlett Johansson, who has recorded a couple of albums when she's not busy being a movie star and a fanboy's dream girl.

Rounding out the category is "Pi's Lullaby" from "Life of Pi," sung by Bombay Jayashri, who co-wrote the song. It's the first time a song in the Tamil language has been up for an Academy Awards, and like "Before My Time," it has 33 to 1 odds to pick up the prize.

Adele is confirmed to be performing "Skyfall" at Sunday's Oscar telecast; she passed on appearing at Wednesday's Brit Awards in London because she's in Los Angeles getting ready for the show. And look for a very enthusiastic acceptance speech if she wins. When she got word that she'd been nominated, Adele tweeted, "Oh my god I feel like Meryl Streep!! Thank you x."

The Oscars will be broadcast Sunday at 7 pm on ABC.
