The ceremony set the stage for the Academy Awards by honoring several of the actors considered to be frontrunners for winning Oscars exactly four weeks from tonight.

Daniel Day-Lewis took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his immersive portrayal of the 16th President of the United States in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln." While "Argo" has emerged as the frontrunner to win the Oscar for Best Picture after last night's PGA win, "Lincoln" certainly has the edge in the Best Actor category.

Jennifer Lawrence came out ahead of her number-one competitor and fellow Golden Globe winner Jessica Chastain as her portrayal of the troubled, passionate Tiffany in "Silver Linings Playbook" won her the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role. Until tonight, Lawrence and Chastain were neck-and-neck when it came to who might take home the Academy Award for Best Actress, though the SAG win may now give Lawrence the extra inch she needs to score the Oscar as well.

Anne Hathaway also now has a SAG Award to go alongside her Golden Globe as she won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of the doomed Fantine in "Les Miserables." At this point, there's little doubt that she'll also be taking home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress next month.

Tommy Lee Jones may have been the surprise win of the evening as he won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance as hot-tempered U.S. Congressman Thaddeus Stevens in "Lincoln," beating some pretty heavy competition from Philip Seymour Hoffman in "The Master" and Robert De Niro in "Silver Linings Playbook." Jones was not in attendance and his award was accepted by his "Batman Forever" co-star, Nicole Kidman.

While Javier Bardem didn't win the Supporting Male Actor award for his performance as James Bond villain Silva, "Skyfall" itself won the award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture, beating out other stunt-heavy extravaganzas like "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Bourne Legacy."

And it wouldn't be an awards ceremony without some sort of win for "Argo." The entire ensemble of the CIA thriller directed by Ben Affleck won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
