    Says Poonam Pandey about her bold character in her debut film ‘Nasha’. More

    Poonam Pandey is having sleepless nights. Her tweet reads, “Tweethearts! Yaar Tenssion aa gaya ... cudnt sleep Last night. .. Just just 3 days to go 26th July,”. For the uninitiated, Poonam’s debut film Nasha is hitting the screen this week. For someone who is yet to prove her mettle, the starlet has 4,07950 followers on twitter. But there is nothing random in the economics of being Poonam Pandey. Apart from her strategist, she has a team of 17 people (including two lawyers) who manage her website and social networking sites. "Before posting any pictures on the site, I send them to my lawyers so that I don't get into any legal hassle,"she says. Strategy or fore-sightedness, it seems to have worked well for her. In a candid chat, the motor-mouth starlet talks about her debut film and her role.

  • Ranbir to shake legs with parents

    The three of them will come together for a special promo in Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Besharam

    For the first time Ranbir Kapoor will be sharing screen space with his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. The three of them will come will come together for a special promo in Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Besharam, directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap.

    A source close to the film’s team reveals, “For this song, the Kapoors will appear as a family. It’s a number which is high on north Indian slang and mannerisms, and the shoot for it will begin in the coming weeks. They’re done shooting for the remaining bits as the film is slated to release on October 2.”

    The song will be a promotional video and in all likelihood, will feature at the end of the film, while the credits roll. The source adds, “The team has already recorded about four to five songs, including some Punjabi rap, for the video, but they’re still keeping their options open before finalising on the track.   • Veteran actor Pran no more

    Veteran actor Pran who has acted in more than 350 films passed away today at the Lilavati hospital after prolonged illness. He was 93.

    The legendary actor had been suffering from ill-health for quite some time and was unable to travel to Delhi to receive the Dadasaheb
    Palke Award in May. He began his career in Punjabi films but came into national limelight as a villain in films like Ziddi, Madhumati, Ram
    and Shyaam and Upkar .  In 2010, he was named in the list of CNN's top 25 Asian actors of all time. He is survived by three children.

    The official press note from the hospital reads "Pran aka Pran Nath Sikand was admitted to Lilawati Hospital after he complained of uneasiness in breathing on May 30.  According to doctors treating him in Lilavati hospital, he has been in and out of the hospital for respiratory problem. The doctors said he had many illnesses which included extensive pneumonia, chronic kidney diseases, Parkinson, COPD and sepsis. He was on ventilator and passed away around

    Riding on the success of ‘Raanjhanaa’, here’s Sonam Kapoor at her candid best

    As we are ushered into cosy and warm room in Anil Kapoor’s Juhu Bungalow, we see Sonam tapping away aggressively on her mobile phone. Dressed in an ornate Indian dress, the actress was all set to make an appearance for ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ promotions. “I have a special appearance in the film but I wanted to work with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra,” she says.     John Abraham teams up yet again with his Vicky Donor director Shoojit Sircar for a nail-biting thriller Madras Café.  The film  is based in Sri Lanka and was initially titled as Jaffna but the makers finally settled for Madras Café. The film is shot in Sri Lanka and it takes a lot of inspiration from the real life political unrest in Jaffna.

    In the film John teams up with quizmaster Siddharth Basu who makes his Bollywood debut with Madras Café. Nargis Fakhri plays a hard-core journalist which is quite an antithesis to the girl next door o.f Rockstar. John is back to his favorite genre and plays an accomplished para military officer, is newly recruited to RAW (India’s external security agency), by the Indian head – Deshmukh with the mandate to execute certain covert Intelligence operations, to ensure the success of the PM’s Lankan accord – ‘the Indo-Lankan peace accord’.
