Lip plumpers have a mild ingredient which increases the blood flow or causes slight oedema, immediately. This may make your lips appear fuller for about four hours. The most common ingredients used are camphor, menthol, wintergreen and ginger. On applying, most of them cause a tingling sensation. It can lead to burning in varying degrees depending on our susceptibility. It is bearable and lasts for upto 15 minutes. However, if it continues or is rather severe, then wash it off immediately. All in all, lip plumpers are safe.
