Saif's double bonanza

13 years after 'Kachche Dhaage', Saif Ali Khan is all set to collaborate with Milan Luthria, this time in a double role

First there were rumours that Saif is all set to play a super hero in Milan Luthria’s untitled film. Now the rumour has it that the Chote Nawab will play a double role in the film. The film will be Milan and Saif’s second project after 'Kachche Dhaage' which happened 13 years ago. The leading lady of the film is still under wraps but the makers promise that the role opposite Saif is equally strong and will be played by a leading actress. Jointly Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Milan Luthria, the film is slated to be a wholesome entertainer with a strong romantic angle appealing to all types of audiences, with music playing a significant role in the project.

For Bhushan Kumar, Head Honcho of T-Series, this yet to be titled project is the mogul’s next big outing after the 2011 Salman Khan-Asin starrer Ready, which was a smash hit at the box office. "After Ready, my next film will be directed by Milan Luthria. As Ready did 100 crore-plus business, we will continue to dabble in film production in a big way. We do not wish to make multiple films but would rather do a few good projects. No run-of-the-mill stuff for us. Milan's film for us is a family entertainer. I am excited. We are very happy to have him on board. We wanted someone who could make people laugh and Saif is perfect. The film will have action, adventure, suspense, comedy and music — in short; it's a complete masala film! We should start filming in 2013," adds Kumar.

Saif also expresses tremendous happiness on reuniting with Milan and collaborating with Bhushan Kumar, "I am very happy to be working with Milan again. I would like to associate with his kind of cinema. It will be exciting to work with Bhushan. Though we interacted for the music of Agent Vinod, we will be working together as producer and actor for the first time. I want to associate with very commercial, different and yet sensible cinema. It's important to choose a subject and make it with the right people. That's what has happened to this film."

Milan who is riding high after two back to back super hits is too excited about the film. Quiz him on the superhero angle and Milan is quick to revert, ‘There are many superhero films out there but this isn’t one of them. Ours is a masala entertainer with a twist, that's all that I'll say at this point. Saif and I had always been talking about reuniting again for another film after Kachche Dhaage but somehow nothing materialized. This time he was shooting in Istanbul while I was in Prague. We were speaking to each other over the phone when he reminded me again of doing another film which is when I narrated a plot to him of whose character fit him to the T. He was very thrilled about it and agreed to do the film over the phone itself. It was instinctive for both of us and I’m sure the outcome will be something to watch out for."

On turning producer Milan says, "My company Vertex Motion Pictures has already line produced The Dirty Picture so I thought why not go all the way. Partnering with Bhushan is great. We are both coming from super hit movies behind us. The connect is great and the confidence is high.”
