Director-producer duo Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt along with actors were in Kolkata on Thursday to promote their upcoming Vishesh Films production AASHIQUI 2 starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.

The makers said, "After having been very successful in the first decade of the 21st century-which had an erotic component, which had the thriller component-was why we were given the 'A' certification. We realized that now, having touched the peak, we must make a transition into what is called a wholesome family entertainment."

"It's a great experience. It's a whole different world when you're the leading man of a movie, and I didn't realize that until the first day. It's every young actor's dream to play the protagonist of a film," said Aditya on being the leading man.

Shraddha said that being part of AASHIQUI 2 was "a dream come true."

"From the response that we've got from the trailers, and the feedback from the promos, I'm actually overwhelmed. We're thriving in the appreciation of all the love that we're getting," she said.

"We're gifted with good ear for music. And also, we intentionally work very hard on our music. We have the hunger for great songs, and have been successful because we have tapped music from fresh talent," said Mukesh citing Nadeem-Shravan, music director of AASHIQUI, and Jeet Gannguli, music director of AASHIQUI 2.

"AASHIQUI was a cult movie, so, we want to live up to those expectations," said Team AASHIQUI 2.

Directed by maker of KALYUG, Mohit Suri, the film is slated for an Apr 26 release.
