New Delhi, March 9 (IANS) Alobo Naga & The Band (ANB) from Nagaland regaled the crowd at a cultural event held at the Jamia Millia Islamia here. Their lyrics are mostly based on youth, society and love.

The event, organised by the Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research, saw huge participation from university students, as well as general youngsters.

The Safdar Hashmi amphitheatre resonated with the sounds of music by the Dimapur-based band Friday evening. Jamia Millia Islamia's band Patronymic kickstarted the evening, and their performance was followed up by a gig by Sikkim-based hip-hop band Urban Inc.

The crowd was upbeat.

"Every year different artists from North East come here to perform. I came here just to watch Alobo Naga & the Band's performance. I follow their music," said Meghna Khanna, who was accompanied by her friends.

A group of girls also the performed Assam's Bihu dance.

Pro-Vice Chancellor S.M. Rashid was the chief guest for the evening, while Surin Pitsuwan, former Secretary General, ASEAN, and P.D. Rai, member of parliament, were also present.
