Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who had played the role of upright cop Vijay Khanna in the 70s blockbuster Zanjeer, recently got nostalgic about the movie on its 40th anniversary yesterday.
Taking to Twitter, the Big B wrote, “40 years anniversary of film Zanjeer today ... an entire lifetime gone by .. what a moment ... Salim-Javed for thinking of me, thank you ...have always wondered how they did ... a failed newcomer ... so much connected to the film ... what a time in the life of a life !!”
The film was responsible for giving Amitabh the 'Angry Young Man' image and for reflecting the anger of the masses against the political system. The film is now being remade by Apoorva Lakhia and the remake will star South star Ram Charan Teja, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Mahie Gill and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.
