Fox Star Studios' first full-fledged independent production, JOLLY L.L.B, directed by Subhash Kapoor has packed a solid 2nd weekend of 5.25 Cr domestic net, taking the 10 day total to 24.77 Cr. With that, the film has already become one of the first clean hits of 2013. What's more heartening is the fact that Amitabh Bachchan, who saw the film recently, took to the social networking site to shower praises, " Jolly LLB of Arshad Warsi, noble, truthful and performed with aplomb...Cast of Jolly LLB, all doing so well and the direction of Subhash Kapoor, good, for one that had been a journalist!"
The film, which has become the biggest hit for Arshad Warsi as his solo male lead, continues to run full stream at the multiplexes and has done exceedingly well notwithstanding the latest Bollywood releases this weekend, beating the trade expectations. Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, adds, "We are extremely pleased with the way audiences have gone all out and endorsed JOLLY L.L.B. It's a film that's very special to each of us at the studio. Excellent figures over the weekend indicate that the film is set for a long haul at the box office. JOLLY L.L.B will encourage us to continue our endeavour to bring wholesome cinema to the audiences that is massy and yet thought provoking."
With an overall cost of 13.5 cr including production, print and advertising, the film has already recovered its cost including the satellite, music and other rights and on top of it, is posting big returns even as the box-office registers keep ringing. By any measure, JOLLY LLB has become one of the first clean hits of 2013.
