Angelina Jolie pledges profits from jewellery collection for funding Kabul school

Washington, Apr. 3 (ANI): Angelina Jolie has confirmed that she has opened a school for girls in Afghanistan and has pledged the profits from the sale of her personally designed jewellery collection towards the humanitarian project.

The 37-year-old actress' primary school lies in an area that is just outside of Kabul.

The Academy award winner chose the village as the site of her school because of the high number of refugees settled there.

Currently, the school is catering to the education of 200-300 girls.

Jolie will release her personally designed jewellery collection, the Style of Jolie, to retail stores for the first time and her new foundation The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict will be using the whole profit from this business to construct more such educational institutions around the world.

She told E! Online that beyond enjoying the artistic satisfaction, which comes from designing the jewellery, her team is inspired by knowing that their work is also serving the mutual goal of providing for children who are in need.

Jewellery designer, Robert Procop, and Jolie spent years collaborating on the jewellery collection.

The range has exclusively been made available in Tivol, a Kansas City jeweller, who is going to hold a special event to launch the collection on Wednesday. (ANI)
