Anurag Kashyap's UGLY makes it to Cannes as well

By Rajesh Kumar Singh, Glamsham Editorial

Last year his films GANGS OF WASSEYPUR Part I and II had their world premiere in this important parallel event that runs alongside the Cannes Film Festival. It was his Cannes debut. He is back in the Directors' Fortnight Programme with his film UGLY. It will be the world premiere of the film.

It seems that the 100th year of Indian Cinema has brought an unprecedented bonanza to his production company and him. His films are in every programme in the 66th Cannes Film Festival, from the main official line up (BOMBAY TALKIES, MONSOON SHOOTOUT) to the Critics' Week (DABBA) and now the Directors' Fortnight (UGLY). This is an unprecedented honour to an Indian production company and filmmaker and it should be a matter of great pride for Anurag Kashyap, his partner Guneet Monga and the Indian contingent at Cannes.

Here is the complete Directors' Fortnight line up of feature films.
