Sources recently revealed that actor Arshad Warsi, who was seen playing a police officer in Kabeer Kaushik's cop drama Sehar, was the original choice to play the role of Arun Inamdar, which is now being played by veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah in Kaushik's Maximum.
Confirming the news, Kabeer Kaushik was quoted saying, "That was long ago. Generally in Bollywood, you tend to approach a particular actor and they come aboard but leave later on because of some or the other engagement. The same thing happened with Arshad but within the fortnight, we got Naseeruddin Shah onboard." Warsi and Shah were seen together in Ishqiya and will be sharing screen space again in the sequel Dedh Ishqiya.
Maximum, which releases this weekend, revolves around the one up-manship between two police officers, played by Sonu Sood and Naseeruddin Shah.
