Audience groove as Paris Hilton turns DJ for Panaji fashion event

Panaji, Dec. 2 (ANI): Audiences grooved as American socialite and hotel heiress Paris Hilton turned DJ for an event on December 1 at the India Resort Fashion Week (IRFW), which kicked off at Candolim beach in Panaji, Goa.

Hilton opened the show with the popular Korean number 'Gangnam Style' and left her fans gasping for more.

The socialite walked the ramp for Indian designers Shane and Falguni Peacock at the finale of the fashion fest, before her maiden performance as a DJ.

Hilton seemed to be in awe of Indian fashion and said: "I like Indian fashion. I think it's so beautiful and elegant and sexy at the same time. I came here last year and I met Shane and Falguni Peacock and I also met them a New York during fashion week. So, I got to see all their designs. They are so beautiful and different, fashion forward and futuristic. Last night, we were doing this fitting and tried on this beautiful saree and it was just so gorgeous. So, I have really come to appreciate Indian fashion, I love it."

Hilton, who began her modelling stint while she was still a teenager, said that fashion has always been close to her heart.

She added that she likes to be a trendsetter and loves experimenting, when it comes to fashion.

"Fashion has been really important to me, since I was a little girl. My mom used to take my sister and I to all the couture fashion shows in Paris, New York and London. So, I grew up always dressing up and knowing all the designers. It's a lot of fun, my fashion style is very fun and daring. I like to take risks, I like to be a trendsetter and I like to wear things, maybe things which you would not expect to see in real life. I love rocking pieces like that; which are unique," said Hilton.

Last year, Hilton launched her handbags collection in India's fashion and entertainment capital, Mumbai.

She has also made cameo appearances in films like Zoolander (2001), Wonderland (2003) and The Cat in the Hat (2003). (ANI)
